Abstract

Chapter explain about training process as a stress factor for an athlete. Explains the concept of local adaptation syndrome and discusses the issue of fitness in relation to the preparedness of the athlete (the creation of preconditions for sports activities).

In the chapter on the adaptation process is described overtraining and overloading effect, as well as the adaptive response to load, positive and negative adaptation. It also explains the concept burnout syndrome as a sign of maladaptation loads.

End of chapter includes issues of supercompensation effect.
