Abstract
This paper closely focuses on strained relations between the wolf and man. It describes historical aspects of occurence of the wolf on the territory of Bohemia and in Central Europe, characteristics of its hunting and events leading to its extermination.
Further it explores actual range of its occurence, present-day or potential conflicts related to its possible reintroduction to our environment.
