The article comments on the historical events in the Czechoslovakia after Worl War II, especially in the 50''and 60''of te 20th century as an ideological basement for the Czech language textbooks which were used in this period in the Czech schools. The samples from the analysed textbooks show the changes in the ideological impact on the authors of the textbooks that was directly dependent on political situation.
The communist party paid special attention to the textbooks - every textbook was examined several times before it could be accepted in schools. Due to this attention, the textboks that were written corresponded mostly to the ideological criteria, but also, parodoxically, were of a very high quality linguistically and elaborated the methodological conception of so called unified school.
