Abstract
During the period from 2005 to 2007, limnological studies of 10 fluvial lakes were carried out in Middle Elbe, Upper Luznice and Upper Svratka. The floodplains differ in geological bedrock, the intensity of anthropogenic pressure, etc.
The goal was to compare and contrast the lakes. They were mapped and morphometric parameters were analysed.
The hydrological regime was monitored regularly. During sampling campaigns, physical-chemical parameters were set in situ and samples for chemical (basic chemism, nutrients, organic matters) and biological analyses (chlorophyll, samples of zooplankton) were taken.
The basic chemism of the lakes depends on predominant filling in with water. According to total nitrogen, total phosphorus and chlorophyll concentration lakes in Polabí are hypertrophic and lakes in upper Lužnice and Svratka are euprophic.
Great amount of phytoplankton biomass in Polabí is not only caused by increased load of nutrients, but also by the predominance of little zooplankton filtrators.
