An example of water ecosystem restoration and its influence on flood protection in the Czech Republic

Abstract

The relationship between river restoration and flood protection can be seen on two levels. On the one hand, there is the potential effect of restoration measures on holding back and slowing down water discharge during floods.

On the other, floods can act as an effective restoration factor in nature.
