Poděbrady spa and mayor Josef Caňkář (1927-1939) : Relationship of the town and a local high-profite enterprise

Abstract

The study is focused on the relation between the administration of the town of Poděbrady and the local Spa Company in the period of their dynamic development during the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic. The special attention is paid to the distinguished local politician, mayor of the town Josef Caňkář.

The study is based among others on his memoirs preserved still in the family.
