European ground squirrel (Spermophilus citellus) in Karlovy Vary region

Abstract

Basic information about biology and history of distribution of the European ground squirrel in the teritory of the Czech Republic are given. Special attention was paid to its occurrence in the Karlovy Vary region.

Contenporary measurements on its conservation are described.
