Analysis of 2009 pandemic influenza A(H1N1) cases in East Bohemia region

Abstract

In total 128 cases of pandemic A(H1N1) 2009 influenza were diagnosed at the University Hospital in Hradec Kralové over the follow-up period. The most affected group were the middle-age people.

Complications occurred in 75 % of hospitalized patients and a predominant complication was acute interstitial pneumonia. Mortality rate in the hospitalized patients exceeded 9 % (8 patients).
