Abstract
The main object of this study is the application of the well-known Lee–Carter method for forecasting mortality to the specific case of circulatory diseases mortality development in the Czech Republic, characterized by significant growth of its level from the mid-1960s and favourable decline since the beginning of the 1990s. Fitting the Lee–Carter model to this adult mortality (ages 35+), continuous reducing of its rates is possible to expect.
