Abstract

Fourteen different windthrow microsites originated from National Nature Reserve Razula (Western Carpathians) were investigated. The age of these sites ranged from 19 to 192 years.

Soil samples were collected from five depths of three different types of windthrow microsite - pit, mound and undisturbed part (as a control). Exchangeable (KCl extractable), oxalate extractable and dithionate-citrate extractable forms of Fe and Al were determined.

It was found that contents of Fe and Al forms significantly differ with respect to age and microsite type (pit, mound and control).
