Abstract
Stem cells exist in almost all mammalian tissues. Stem cell populations are highly heterogenous even at the level of the same tissue.
Stem cells are relatively resistant cells. The level of their resistance depends on many factors e.g. on their state, change in niche, presence of distinct signals etc.
