Publication at Faculty of Humanities |
2010

Abstract

The chapter analyzes the state of art in the contemporary Czech Republic, which could be termed "lesbian art", in the context of overall visual production. The chapter explores the various meanings of the term "lesbian art" and based on interviews with several Czech women artists, who identify as lesbians, examines what it means to create so-called "ingaged art" for them.

The chapter also discusses the consequences of presence and absence of identity art in the Czech context.
