Abstract
In line with recent trends in EU countries, state support of Czech women balancing their career aspirations with their desires to start a family was expected to remain one öf the main tasks of family policy. While economic activity of women remained at a high rate, total fertility rate dropped down.
The aim was to find out to what extent recent family policies in the Czech Republic have failed in this respect.
