Abstract

A significant shift in sense perception, methods of working and ICT competences is observed in contemporary schools. Young learners are very different compared to schoolchildren 10 years older than them.

A good teacher is supposed to reflect these changes employing appropriate educational approaches. Constructivism is one of modern psychodidactic systems which may have a positive effect on our pupils.

This system is being defined as an approach pupils construct their own understanding in, an approach where a teacher - a guide in the world of information - helps them to build on what they already know. In terms of constructivism there is a great catalogue of interactive applications available respecting this concept - applets.

There are some examples of utilizable chemistry related applets introduced and depicted with a suggestion of their use, and also there are verified databases gathering links to several Web sites containing the chemistry-related applets described.
