Abstract
since the 1990s opinions on the role of family policy have shifted significantly and its significance is no longer questioned, the content of such policy has yet to be clarified. The main drawback lies in the lack of continuity in state support for families, adding to which is the long-term political dispute over the basic direction of family policy.
This gloomy situation has come to be reflected in an unstable population climate, and it can be expected that the fertility rate will settle at a level below 1.5 children per woman.
