Abstract
This article accounts for the study "Narcisse et le mal du siècle" par Negin Daneshvar-Malevergne, Paris : Éditions Dervy, 2009. This monography deals with the figure of Narcissus in late nineteenth century in french and english literature by the comparative and mythocritic methods.
The mirror as not only an emblem of narcissism, but also a symbol of self-knowledge and the duality between reflecting subject and his image is transformed by Ébert-Zeminová into an hermeneutic pattern which permets her to explore why and by what way the end of XXth century is so much interested in this of XIX century and its symbolism.
