The Czech Republic became the homogenous country from the nationality aspect after the World War. In 2001, the proportion of the Czech nationality (there also Moravian and Silesian) formed 94 - 95 % of the population.
The share of the next nationality - Slovak has been falling since the 1993 in consequence with the split of the Czechoslovakia on 1,9 %. Among non-Slovak nationality the most frequent nationalities were Polish and German, concentrated in areas near the Czech-Polish and Czech-German border.
