Between Profane Power and Spirituality. The Lobkowicz Patronage and Maecenatism in the Jagellonian Era

Abstract

In the late Middle Ages the Lobkowiz family belonged among the most important noble families in the Bohemian Lands. This status found its expression even in their building activities and the commissioning of works of art.

The monastery of Franciscans ? observants at Kadaň enjoyed the Lobkowicz favour and that is why the special attention is paid to it.
