Abstract

The map analyses and evaluates regional differentiation of the Central Europe macro-region on the level of NUTS 2 statistical units by using cluster analysis. The borderline of the former "Iron Curtain" including unified Germany is still evident according to the nine selected socio-economic indicators even 15 years after its fall, Austria demonstrates east and west parts polarisation as well and Hungary, Czechia and new federal states of Germany are characterised by relatively high homogeneity except main agglomerations.
