Abstract
Essay describes present system of retirement insurance and the principles on which the system is based. It analyzes financing and benefits of the basic system and regulation of the supplementary retirement insurance.
Furthermore, it deals with an issue of retirement insurance, after Czech Republic joined EU, and with the reform of retirement system in the Czech Republic.
