On Paragraph Groups with a Narrow Theme in Contemporary English

Abstract

Dealing with thematic build-up of paragraph groups, the paper explores narrow Theme paragraph groups detected in a corpus of contemporary British English texts. It studies their build-up patterns, composition (constituent paragraphs), length, frequency, stylistic affinities, etc.
