Abstract

Original hypothesis persisting over one hundred years, that amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is motorical illness only, stated indefensible. There was made about fifty neuropsychological investigations in the sphere of cognitive functions in patients with MND/ALS in past ten years in the world.

With non consistent in the all domains of cognition (i.e. perception, attention, memory, language and executive function), unfortunately. Consensus was attainted in impairment of executive function of brain frontal lobe (task of verbal fluency).In fine we can say that motor neuron disease - amyotrophic lateral sclerosis – isn’t only neuropsychological domain anymore, but in consequence of brain cognitive functions affection it became not absolutely explored area of experimental and clinical field of neuropsychology.
