Cardiac surgery operations and their influence on serum level of antiinflammatory cytokine interleukin-10

Abstract

We followed serum levels of IL-10, IL-6 and IL-13 in patients undergoings surgical operations either using or without use of CPB. We found significantly higher level of IL-10 in 'on-pump' patients during an early postoperative period.
