Publication |
2005

Abstract

Cardiogenic shock represents a complication in up to 10% of patients with acute myocardial infarction. Cardiogenic shock mortality remains high.

In the contemporary treatment inhibitors of NO synthase are studied, apart from classic medications.~Mechanical circulatory support is also important in majority of patients with cardiogenic shock: intraaortic balloon contrapunction, left ventricular assist device system. Prognosis is improved by percutaneous coronary intervention.~
