Development of Professional Education in Primary School through the Changes in Methodology of Different Curriculum Areas

Abstract

Future primary school teachers [ISED 1] are being prepared/trained in 9 faculties of education in the Czech Republic. Their education is on university level in the format of 5-year magisterial study programmes.

During their studies our students meet with a large variety of curriculum areas that up to a certain extent are reflecting those areas of primary school curriculum. Such a link enables to use action research not only for development of special didactics but it provides a feedback to school practice and makes effective links with a teaching practice and even with a broader pedagogical "environment".

In greater details it is focused even on possible use of action research that is one of valuable means of innovation. Apart of that some concrete research data collected within the framework of action research conducted in the field of development of literacy didactics and a possible implementation into special didactics and for school practice.
