Using videorecordings of lessons in the education of mathematics teachers

Abstract

Videos of real lessons are increasingly used in the education of pre- and in-service mathematics teachers, both in the Czech Republic and abroad, mostly to bridge the gap between theory and practice. They have become a part of my mathematics education course at the Faculty, too.

The article presents examples of activities from the course in which videos and their analyses were used to develop student teachers' pedagogical content knowledge.
