Abstract

This treatise is a companion volume to the book The Celtic Church of the First Millenium and its Spirituality published in Brno in 2002. The individual chapters of this work were originally independent articles, some of them were already published and some are still due to appear.

Of the eight chapters, the first deals with the druids. The next two chapters introduce two very important Celtic Saints – Saint Patrick and Saint Columba.

Another two chapters deal with the gradual spread of the Celtic Christianity in the North Atlantic region and also on the European Continent. Chapters on the Divine Services of Celtic Christians and on the Celtic Christian Arts follow.

The treatise is concluded with a chapter on the Intellectual Culture in Celtic Christianity.
