The anniversary celebrations of the Kuttenberger Decree in 20th Century in the eyes of historians

Abstract

The study describes and compares the 20th century celebrations of the anniversaries connected with the Kuttenberger Decree released originally by the Czech king Wenceslas IV in 1409. Despite the differences between the political situation in 1909 and 1959, for both celebrations was significant the exalted nationalist rhetoric and political “instrumentalization” of the historical events from the long past.
