Abstract
This book is the first attempt to compare systematically the basic conditions of phenomenology and system theory. This comparison concerns the positions of Edmund Husserl, Martin Heidegger, Heinrich Rombach, and Jacques Derrida on the part of phenomenology; of Niklas Luhmann, Francicso Varela, and Humberto Maturana on the part of system theory and autopoiesis.
