Abstract
The study introduces the personality and work of František Xaver Havránek (1805 - 1867), a Knight of the Cross, and focuses on his essay "About the Stars' People" from 1836 (published in 1852 in Časopis pro katolické duchovenstvo). This essay considers the possibility of existence of extraterrestrial beings - from the viewpoint of natural reason and theology.
