Abstract

This book, the final output of the Valuation of Environment-Related Health Impacts (VERHI) project, presents new research findings on methodological approach on valuation of health risks. Value of a Statistical Life (VSL) is derived as for children as for adults by utilising conjoint choice experiment and contingent valuation method including new methodological approaches for valuing children’s health (chaining approach, standard gamble, person trade-offs).

Empirical research is based on several surveys conducted in the Czech Republic, Italy and the United Kingdom.
