Abstract
The paper focuses on the concept of structure as used in Giddens?s structuration theory. Firstly, some shortcomings of the structuration theory are described.
Then the concept of structure used in the structuration theory is discussed on the background of existing theories of social subject and object. Next, Giddens?s concepts of structure and system are compared.
Finally, the main drawbacks of the concept of structure in the structuration theory are set forth.
