External costs of electricity and heat production in Czech conditions and their internalisation methods

Publication

Abstract

Report presents results of external costs of electricity and heat production in the Czech Republic. Outcomes were estimated using the ExternE methodology which arises from bottom-up approach.

External costs were assessed pro energy equipment using brown coal, hard coal, lignite, nuclear, natural gas, heavy oil, biomass, wind, biogas and for geothermal and photovoltaic equipment. Impacts on human health, crops, building materials and climate change were included into external costs assessment.

Morbidity impacts were estimated using contingent valuation method and cost-of-illness. External costs for individual and freight transport are also presented in the report.
