The Viennese Weekly Die Zeit (1894-1904) as an Intermediary between Czech and Viennese Modernism

Abstract

This publication presents the first synthetic treatment of contacts between the leading representatives of early Czech literary and political modernism at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and the prominent Viennese modernist review Die Zeit, founded in 1894 by writer and critic Hermann Bahr, journalist Heinrich Kanner and economist Isidor Singer.
