Abstract
The contribution deals with the political and social profile of a Young-Czech deputy in the Czech Regional Assembly and in the Vienna Imperial Council Emanuel Engel. Beside a biographical sketch of E.
Engel, the author observes in particular the interconnection between social and working conditions and a professional political activity in the 19th century.
