This article published in the Seminar Proceedings 2004 is devoted to the special resources for teaching English to Czech deaf students and to the language teaching strategies which really work and were drawn from the practical experience of the Language Resource Centre teachers with teaching English to the Deaf at tertiary level of education. To the best strategies belong: permanent testing of the student knowledge and various rewriting tasks, keeping diaries and reports of important events, exchanging e-mails with deaf students, using high technology for stimulation of their sight and lots of drawings, pictures, photos and video sequences to stimulate and keep the deaf students´ interest and attention during the whole process of learning.
