Abstract

This second edition of the methodology guidebook on how to study English more effectively was developed preferably for students with special needs and their teachers. The first part deals with effective teaching and learning methods while the second part lists in detail all special resources offered to deaf, hard-of-hearing and vision impaired students by the Faculty of Arts Language Resource Centre: specialized literature on Deaf Community, its Culture and History, on various sign languages (Czech Sign Language, BSL, ASL), captioned videos, DVD and computer programmes, and large collection of ELT recordings, audio-books and newly also hybrid books for vision impaired students.

This guidebook also includes a section with literature on didactics and applied linguistics devoted mainly to the teachers of students with special needs and postgraduate students.
