Crosscurrents of Postmodernity: Narrative, Identity and Citation in the New Drama of the 1990s

Abstrakt

The disertation analyzes the interaction of textual strategies (narrative techniques, citationality, allusions), genre forms (tragedy, comedy, grotesque), stage techniques and problems of individual and cultural identity in contemporary British and Irish drama represented by Conor McPherson, Mark Ravenhill, Martin McDonagh, Sarah Kane and Marina Carr.
