Abstract
Firstly, several pre-Buddhist shapes of Yama deity are summarized, myths on origination of Yamantaka and with the help of translations from Taranatha’s „History of Yamantaka“ it touches upon legends surrounding the Indian Tantric siddhas. Conclusion is devoted to the ritual.
It consists from the translations of the whole explanatory text of the Yamantaka Tantra and parts of another one, both from 19th century and frequent these days.
