Abstract
In the paper we focus the birth of constellations. Hereat we take into account our (west-) european approach to the knowledge and scientific exploration.
We deal with ancient civilizations of Egypt, Babylony, Greek and helenism and pass to the modern 17th and 18th century which round off the nomenclature of the International Astronomy Union in the beginning of 20th century.
