Abstract
This article contains basic biographical information about the life of prominent Czech lawyer, scholar and pedagogue prof. Jaroslav Kallab.
The author of the article draws attention to the nature and importance of prof. Kallabs scientific work and relevance of many of his ideas for the present.
Prof. Kallab realized criticism of juridical thinking and then built his own comprehensive and logically arranged juridical-philosophical system which ensured him permanent place in the history of not only Czech jurisprudence.
The reconstruction of the prof. Kallabs thinking model is based on authentic quotations from his theoretical considerations, monographs and textbooks, in which he focused on key issues and concepts of jurisprudence, with a particular regard to criminal law and criminology.
