The books explains changes in sociological thinking from "the fathers" Comte, Durkheim, Marx, Tocqueville, Mill, M. Weber, Simmel)to modern sociology of T.
Parsons. It gives attention also to some omitted figure and national sociological schools (Russian sociology, Polish sociology).
The book contains also an overview of history of empirical research in sociology.
