Design, preparation and results of antimycobacterial evaluation and study of relationships between structure and activity (SAR) of 142 pyrazine derivatives are presented. The most active compounds are discussed.

This project has been successfully realized in co-operation between Tuberculosis Antimicrobial Acquisition and Coordinating Facility (TAACF, Southern Research Institute, Birmingham, USA) and Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Control (Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic) in years 1996 — 2009. Results give good view onto structure-activity relationships of these analogues and promise even better activity after some structure optimization experiments.
