Abstract
The article attempts to describe an alternative way of reading the history of sophistry, sophistic rhetoric and Plato´s dialogue The Sophist. Reading which is different from the classic lines of interpretation posed by the Anglo-Saxon tradition (Francis MacDonald Cornford), or the german tradition (Martin Heidegger), but also by some modern authors such as Edward Schiappa.
