Abstrakt
This article looks at results from the project Combating Social Exclusion Among Young Homeless Populations (CSEYHP), funded by the EU Seventh Framework Programme under the Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities theme. The project was a comparative investigation of youth homelessness (across different ethnic and migrant statuses) in four countries: the Czech Republic (CZ), the Netherlands (NL), Portugal (PT) and the UK, and this article reports on responses from non-governmental organization (NGO) workers with regard to the risk of homelessness for young populations in the four countries, comparing samples drawn in CZ with those of the three other participating countries.
Available evidence on visible and invisible homelessness, particularly in CZ, is summarised, and risk factors associated with youth homelessness in CZ are discussed, as is the need for housing, supported accommodation services and health services, including social services and link workers.
