Abstract

An existence of an imaginary "magical mirror" reveals how dominant society treats domestic minorities if legal constraints are lifted. Immigration laws are interwoven with racism, political censorship, classism, sexism, and homophobia and therefore the U.S.

Government, the author argues, should abolish the immigration laws in their entirety because only then will the United States even begin to approximate the promise to the world inscribed on the Statue of Liberty.
