Abstract

In 1837 J.E. Purkinje for the first time described main cerebellar structures.

From that time the research of the cerebellum discovered a huge number of new both structural and functional findings.The article gives information not only about traditional role of the cerebellum in neural functions but also brings a survey of recent discoveries connected with a new conception of the cerebellum,including contemporary method used in the research and interpretation of results obtained.
