Abstract

Renal vein thrombosis (RVT) can occur as a complication of the nephrotic syndrome. We present the case of 11-year old girl with systemic lupus erythematosus with nephrotic syndrome and left RVT with pulmonary embolism.

She was treated with low-molecular-weight heparin resulted in recanalisation of left renal vein. In general, anticoagulation is the mainstay of therapy for RVT.
