Spectral and photometric analysis of the eclipsing binary epsilon Aurigae prior to and during the 2009-2011 eclipse

Abstract

Existence of of an extended atmosphere of the dark disk, in which the secondary star of eps Aur is hidden, was clearly demonstrated. It was found that the spectroscopic eclipse in H alpha begins 3 years sooner than the photometric eclipse.
