Abstract
This article focuses on the origin of the first gymnastic place in the Europe - the Hasenheide Field in Berlin. Friedrich Ludwig Jahns goal was to prepare the young people for the war against the Napoleons.
With the patriotic education he aimed to wake the german proces of unifiaction. With this national-political content he distinguished his concept of Turnen from all the previous forms of gymnastic and he established a great movement which influenced the sport history in all the world.
